I-Scription spectacle wavefront lenses can give you high definition vision. We now offer this new technology to patients. A wavemap is first obtained with the Zeiss I-profiler abberometer. It not only measures shortsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism but also higher order abberations such as spherical abberation, comma and trefoil. High abberation can account for blurry vision, halos at night and up to 20% of the effective power of a lens. Using patented laser technology a unique lens is created that corrects for each patients'
fingerprint like distortions (abberations) along with their refractive error. Correcting for both refraction and abberations improves visual acuity, clarity and quality of vision. It is optimal for night time driving but also works to optimize everyday vision. Research has shown improved night driving vision recognition speed with wavefront corrected lenses. On average patient response time is 300 milliseconds faster. At 55mph that means identifying objects and signs 27 feet sooner than matched non wavefront corrected prescriptions
